LOWVILLE — A dermatology physician’s assistant at Lewis County General Hospital has left for a dermatology practice in Syracuse after three years.

“It is bittersweet leaving, but I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life and career,” said Amy L. Werchinski in a statement.

She is joining the practice of Dr. I.A. Tangoren and is welcoming Lewis County patients to her new location, according to a statement from the county-owned hospital.

“The hospital was fortunate to have Amy join our medical staff,” said hospital CEO Eric R. Burch in a statement. “There is a great need for this service here in Lewis County, and we hope to offer dermatology services in the future.”

Ms. Werchinski is a 1998 graduate of South Jefferson Central High School, Adams.
