SYRACUSE New York City defeated Hudson Valley, 10-8, to win the 2012 Empire State Cup boys lacrosse tournament at Central Square Stadium on Sunday. The event featured several Frontier League players.
Paul Bracy, Taylor Morgan and Adam Kehoe of Carthage, along with General Browns Kendall Vecchio and Matt Moran of Immaculate Heart, helped the Central team to a 2-3 record and a fifth-place finish.
Moran scored five goals to go with three assists, Vecchio supplied four goals and two assists, and Bracy added a goal.
Mitchell Rick, the 2012 Times All-North Most Valuable Player who graduated from Watertown High School in June, led the Adirondack team with seven goals and three assists. Adirondack went 0-5, and finished last in the six-team field.
