HAMMOND — A Hammond man accused of growing marijuana was arrested at 5 p.m. Wednesday by state police.

Jason M. Gilmour, 37, of 307 Lake St., was charged with unlawfully growing cannabis, a misdemeanor.

Police investigating reports of the marijuana said they found nine plants growing in 2-liter bottles in a cardboard box in the backyard.
