POTSDAM - Village police picked up Cody A. Pernice, 23, of Market Street, Potsdam, at 6:40 p.m. Friday on a bench warrant from St. Lawrence County Court issued following a sealed indictment handed up by a St. Lawrence County grand jury. The indictment will reportedly chare him with three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Potsdam Police said the indictment stemmed from an investigation conducted by members of the their department and the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force into the trafficking and sale of cocaine in the Potsdam area. The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are pending, Potsdam Police said.

Pernice was transported to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility pending his arraignment on the drug charges Monday in county court.
