CANTON — The new butterfly garden at the E.J. Noble building is blooming with color, but more perennial flowers are needed.

Community members are invited to donate flowers from their gardens from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 15 at the garden site, 80 E. Main St.

“We will be planting along a winding path to enhance the already beautiful space that has been created here,” E.J. Noble Guild member Cynthia A. Quackenbush said.

She said any flowering plant will be appreciated, especially those that attract and nurture butterflies.

Some suggestions include: black-eyed Susans, cone flowers, sedum, phlox, yarrow, bleeding heart, foxglove, blazing star, primrose, painted daisies, spiderwort, columbine, poppies, coreopsis, lambs ear, New England aster, lavendar, Russian sage, liatris, lupine, euphorbia, hollyhock, grasses, false sunflower, false indigo, daisies, bee balm, Siberian iris, lungwort and bell flower.

For more information, Mrs. Quackenbush can be reached at 386-5243.
