I see there are many people who are disillusioned by the gun-control advocates. The mayor of New York City has jumped at the chance to exploit the Colorado travesty. This person knows that he can’t control his own city, let alone other cities.

When will the intelligent people who write in this newspaper wake up to the fact that it is not the gun that kills, it’s the poor misguided criminal that pulls the trigger. The gun is an inanimate thing that can be put away and never fired unless someone loads it and pulls the trigger.

If you take away the rights of the American citizen who legally owns a gun for self-protection, who will protect your family, the local police? I don’t think so. By the time they get there, the crime has already taken place. God keep and protect our police officers because their lives are in danger the minute they put on their uniform in the morning.

It is a known fact to many that if you take the guns away from the law-abiding citizen, it’s telling the criminal it is all clear to rob and rape and maybe maim you for life. Nothing is going to stop the gangs from getting a gun, and they can afford the best from the money they make pushing dope.

Wise up, America. Stop the crooks and gangs from getting the guns they buy from the black markets. The crooks have guns and so do the good guys. The good guys want them to protect their families and for sporting events and hunting.
