PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA - A Louisiana man lost his beef, his barley and his freedom Wednesday night in Massena.
Village police charged Jayson Thompson, 27, of East Dublin, La., with petit larceny at 6 p.m. Wednesday after he allegedly attempted to shoplift $125 worth of steak and beer from Price Chopper.
While he was being processed on the petit larceny count, it was determined the sheriffs department also had a warrant for his arrest from St. Lawrence County Family Court.
He was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow, and bail was set at $500 on the petit larceny charge and $5,000 on the family court warrant.
