The state Department of Environmental Conservation announced several new rules about freshwater fishing that will go into effect Oct. 1 and be in place until 2014.
The changes include provisions on catching certain fish, like walleye, black bass and salmon, along with rules on where fishers may travel and the gear they may use.
The complete list of the new regulations may be found at www.dec.ny.gov/regulations/propregulations.html.
