PHILADELPHIA- Roger D. Booth, 65, of Sandy Hollow Road died August 7, 2012.
Born April 8, 1947 in Alexandria Bay, NY, he was the son of Homer and Florence Orvis Booth. He attended Antwerp Elementary School and graduated from Indian River Central School in 1965.
Following graduation he worked for Frink Snow-Plow in Clayton, NY, enlisting in December 1965 to serve in the United States Marines. He served in South Vietnam and was honorably discharged in December 1969. Upon his discharge Mr. Booth returned to Frink Snow-Plow, retiring in September 1991.
He married Dianne F. Genier on August 13, 1966 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in LaFargeville with Rev. Howard Gardner officiating.
Mr. Booth was a member of Robert Markwick Post #798 in Philadelphia.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Besides his wife, Dianne, he is survived by his mother, Florence Booth, Philadelphia; three children, a daughter, Kelly and Louis Kampnich, Theresa, two sons, Stanley and April Booth, Philadelphia and Scott Booth and Robert Durant, Theresa; six grandchildren, Philip, Anthony and Troy Kampnich and Alisa, Amanda and Samantha Booth; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Carol and Doug Savage and Elaine and William Freeman, all of Redwood and Karen Prue, Philadelphia.
The funeral will be 10 am Saturday at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa with Pastor David Snyder of the Philadelphia United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Sandy Hollow Cemetery, Philadelphia.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 pm Friday at the funeral home in Theresa.
