State police in Watertown charged Aaron J. Bell, 36,of 22834 Swan Road, on Thursday with second-degree criminal mischief.

Police said he committed about $2,804 in damage to a 1999 Chrysler Sebring owned by Jennifer Smith, same address, during a May 22 incident at the Budget Inn in the town of Watertown.

He was arraigned in Watertown City Court and remanded to the Jefferson County Public Safety Building in lieu of $5,000 bail.
