CLAYTON — The 1000 Islands Duals wrestling tournament was held at the Clayton Arena last Friday through Sunday.

Forty high school teams were involved in the tournament, which is now in its 11th year. The teams were broken up into five eight-team brackets.

Sandy Creek was the highest local finisher by placing third in its respective bracket. South Jefferson earned a fourth-place finish in its bracket.

Carthage and Lewis County I got fifth-place finishes in their respective draw.

General Brown won the junior high competition, while South Jefferson earned fifth spot.
