PHILADELPHIA – Mrs. Evelyn M. Hall, age 78, of Philadelphia, passed away on Thursday, August 09, 2012 at her home under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County.
Her graveside service will be held in the Sanford Corners Cemetery on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by French Funeral Home.
Evelyn was born on May 26, 1934 in Sackets Harbor. She was the daughter of the late Milton E. and Frances E. (Doney) Rathbun. She attended school in Watertown and received her G.E.D. later in life.
Evelyn married Grant L. Hall on May 8, 1961. A previous marriage ended in divorce. She enjoyed cross stitching, reading and working on crossword puzzles. Most importantly, she loved time spent with her beloved dogs.
Mrs. Hall was a thermometer inspector for Cheeseborough Pond in Watertown for eight years. She retired from Indian River Central School as a cafeteria worker in 1999 after 11 years of service there.
Her survivors include her husband, Grant of Philadelphia; and her son Larry C. Barker of Cayce, S.C.
She is predeceased by her daughter, Brenda L. Barker and her brother, Gene Rathbun.
