GLENFIELD The state Department of Transportation has received $370,000 in federal funds to help replace a Lewis County bridge.
The grant funding, allocated from the Federal Highway Administration-run Innovative Bridge Research and Deployment program, will be used for the bridge over Whetstone Creek on Blue Street, also known as County Route 41.
Plans are to replace the 30-foot-long, 26-foot-wide bridge with a new 60-foot single span, 33-foot-wide bridge using prefabricated bridge elements for both the superstructure and the substructure, according to a project description.
