LOWVILLE A workshop on bird conservation options will be offered to Tug Hill landowners next month.
The free session, sponsored by Audubon New York and similar to one held in Constableville last fall, is slated to run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 22 at the state Department of Environmental Conservation field office at 7327 Route 812. It will provide information on wildlife commonly found in forests of the Tug Hill region and resources, tools and potential partners available to help families plan for their woodlands wildlife management.
The workshop will be followed by a woods walk from 1 to 3 p.m. to tour properties where different kinds of forest management have resulted in different types of habitats.
Preregistration by Sept. 18 is required by calling Graham Cox at 1 (518) 729-6869 or 1 (518) 869-9731 or emailing glcox@audubon.org.
