Helen G. Martin, 93, formerly of Felts Mills passed August 12, 2012 at Mercy of NNY where she had been a resident.

A funeral service will be Wed., Aug. 15th at the Bruce Funeral Home, Black River. Burial will follow in the Felts Mills Cemetery.

Calling hours will precede the funeral from Noon till 2 p.m. at the funeral home.Born on February 25, 1919 in Watertown, NY she was the daughter of John and Elean Suci Guga.

She married Russell O. Martin on September 14, 1947 at the Church of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. The couple then resided in Felts Mills.

Mrs. Martin worked at NY Telephone Co. as an operator for several years, was a bookkeeper for her husbands businesses he owned an operated and a homemaker. She was a member of the Felts Mills Auxiliary and she enjoyed flowers.

Among her survivors are twos sons and a daughter in law, Gregory and Joan Martin, Black River, Darryl L. Martin, Watertown; a sister, Babe Sawyer, Rochester, NY; two grandsons, Russell Cleaver and Todd Martin; four granddaughters, Keri-Lyn Cleaver, Amy Martin Davin, Angela Martin Goodwin, Connie Martin Stroud; five great grandchildren, Ashley Davin, Kaylee Goodwin, Cory Martin, Aspen Stroud and Brooke Martin.

Her husband Russell O. Martin, a daughter, Gayle Cleaver and two brothers, John and Mike Guga all died before her.
