TURIN Snow Ridge will again play host to musicians and campers this weekend when Fletch Fest 2012 comes to town.
The three-day festival will feature performances by 26 bands based around Central New York. The event is being hosted by the roots-rock act SLUG, which will be joined by Lindsay Dombeck for a pair of midnight performances on Friday and Saturday nights. Headlining the show are country rockers New Riders of the Purple Sage, which will close out the festival Sunday. Other performers include Acoustically Speaking, Grampa Thrasher, the Crazy Fools, Waydown Wailers and local act Darrells Dilemma.
Chic Shapiro, a Sundance Film Festival nominee, will be in attendance the entire weekend collecting footage for a documentary of the event. There also will be an open jam contest from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday for local bands or musicians. The winners will be given an opportunity to showcase their talent at next years show.
Tickets are available for $50 by calling 348-8456. Tent camping is free and RV camping with full amenities also is available. For more information, visit www.fletchfest.com.
