Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., will visit Clarkson University on Friday to tour exhibits created by startup businesses, including some by student and faculty entrepreneurs from area colleges.

She will arrive at the Robert A. Plane Atrium in the Center for Advanced Materials Processing at 1 p.m.

At 1:30 p.m., Sen. Gillibrand will speak about the “America Innovates Act,” a bill before Congress that, if passed, will provide grants and loans to encourage the creation of jobs in science and engineering.
