AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION - A Norwood-area man was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation following a two-vehicle collision Friday on state Route 345 in the town of Potsdam.
Canton-based state police said Bradley M. Waite, 29 of 1400 Old Market Rd., Norwood was northbound on state Route 345 and attempted to make a left turn into driveway on opposite side of road, failing to realize that a southbound car driven by Anne C Gerhard, 64 of 374 Halfway House Rd, Waddington was coming over the hillcrest. Troopers said Gerhard attempted to take evasive action but was unable to avoid striking Waites vehicle. Gerhard complained of chest pain and was transported by Potsdam Rescue to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for further evaluation. Waite signed off on receiving any medical treatment at scene. A check of Waites license showed that he had four suspensions. Waite was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, arraigned by Potsdam Town Justice Sam Charleson and bail was set at $500cash or $1,000 bond.
