ATTEMPTED ASSAULT - MASSENA - Village police charged Patrick R. Foster, 46, of 3 Bishop St., Massena, with third-degree attempted assault and endangering the welfare of a child following an incident at 11:18 p.m. Friday at his residence. Foster was reportedly upset his son wouldn’t get off the telephone so he struck him with a 46-pound weight bar. His son was evaluated at Massena Memorial Hospital and released. Foster was held for an arraignment in local court.

STALKING - MASSENA - Village police charged Amanda L. Savage, 24, of 190 Center St., Apt. 3, Massena, with fourth-degree stalking and second-degree harassment at 1:37 p.m. Friday. She reportedly had been following and threatening Donna Doman with bodily harm. Ms. Doman told police Savage has been harassing her for several months.

LEAVING THE SCENE - MASSENA - Village police charged Matthew L. Gardner, 45, of 113 Woodlawn Ave., Massena, with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, operation of a vehicle with no insurance and unsafe backing Friday following a property damage accident Aug. 12 on Pleasant Street. Gardner reportedly backed into a vehicle registered to Kenneth Waite and then left the scene.
