CANTON A St. Lawrence County jail inmate accused of violating an order of protection was arrested Thursday by St. Lawrence County sheriffs deputies.
Daniel J. Carter, 24, of 17 Commerce Lane, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree obstructing governmental administration, both misdemeanors.
Mr. Carter allegedly tried to send a letter from the jail to a person who holds an order of protection against him. Mr. Carter then physically resisted arrest, leading to the obstruction charge, deputies said.
He was arraigned in Canton Village Court.
