Bill Adams of Buford, GA and formerly of Massena and Croghan, NY passed away early Friday morning quietly in Atlantas Northside Hospital. Mr. Adams health had been poor recently but he is remembered for his strength, compassion, humor, and service to others. Mr. Adams was from Croghan, NY and attended Father Leo Memorial High School, Siena College, and Clarkson College. He worked for Reynolds Aluminum for 35 years and this work took his family from Massena, NY to Corpus Christi, TX, Florence, AL, Hot Spring, AR, Longview, WA, Lake Charles, LA and finally retiring to Buford, GA. Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of 52 years Beverly, son Matthew, Grandson Nicholas, and a Sister Mary Reed.
Mr. Adams was a church volunteer during his entire life serving a variety of ministries including the choir and he was an active Stephens Minister. He was formerly the Regional Director of the March of Dimes, and the National Director of the Jaycees. He was a hockey coach, Boy Scout Leader, and spent years teaching his friends and family how to water ski, snow ski, play golf, and enjoy outdoor activities. He was truly selfless with his time and talent. Most recently his joy was watching his Grandson, Nicky, grow, learn and enjoy life. Services were previously held on August 13, 2012.
