POTSDAM At Monday evenings village Board of Trustees meeting, Potsdam Police Chief Kevin A. Bates announced that an arrest in an open grand larceny investigation is soon to come.
On June 23, officers received a report of several stolen business checks from Backstreets Nightclub, a bar at 31 Market St., which subsequently were cashed for about $7,000.
The St. Lawrence County Sheriffs Department joined the investigation because several checks were cashed at Community Bank locations outside of Potsdam.
Chief Bates also said a suspect in the grand larceny case has ties to another open case, a stolen golf cart located in Ogdensburg.
