PITCAIRN Town Supervisor Clyde Sam Frank Jr. received a subpoena last month requesting documents to assist in the criminal investigation against former town Supervisor Susan M. Smith, Harrisville.
Mr. Frank said he did as asked in the subpoena, which came from state Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman in late July, but declined to disclose what documents he sent.
An audit conducted by state Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapolis office in July 2011 accused Ms. Smith of misusing more than $35,622 from town accounts while she was supervisor in 2008 and 2009, altering bank statements and keeping shoddy records.
Settlement talks between Ms. Smith and the town reportedly broke down in April.
Ms. Smiths attorney, Michael F. Young of Lowville, said Friday that he was waiting to see whether any charges will be levied.
