Doheny endorses Romney, presses Owens on Obama

This will be the shortest news release of the 2012 election cycle in NY21.
Here it is, in all its two-paragraph glory, from Republican Matt Doheny, who is running on Nov. 6 against Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh:
WATERTOWN - Matt Doheny, the Republican, Conservative and Independence parties' candidate in the 21st Congressional District, endorses Mitt Romney for president.

"Who is my opponent supporting?" the candidate asked.

Mr. Owens has, in fact, said he is supporting President Obama for re-election.
Here is from a previous blog post: "As I'm looking at this now, I'm going to support the person who in my opinion is most focused on the middle and trying to create jobs, trying to help the middle class, help the majority of Americans, who's going to be focused on the United States," Mr. Owens said. "Right now, that looks to me like it's the president."
Mr. Owens also said that he was endorsing Mr. Obama because Mr. Romney wants to raise taxes on the middle class, a challenge that the Romney campaign and other conservatives have challenged.
The exact word "endorsement" hasn't crossed his lips, but I'd say his comments rise to the level of an endorsement.
