■ CARTHAGE — The Carthage Area Chamber of Commerce office will be closed Monday for the Labor Day holiday, Sept. 6 for the Fort Drum Expo, Sept. 19 for a prior appointment and Oct. 5 so that the director may attend the Lewis County Leadership Academy.

■ City Manager Sharon A. Addison purchased a home at 337 S. Pleasant St. from Betty J. Grieco for $259,000. Ms. Addison started her new job in July after leaving the National Security Agency at Fort George G. Meade, Md. She also owns property in Fishers Landing.

■ Watertown High School students taking morning classes at the Jefferson-Lewis Board of Cooperative Educational Services should take the morning bus to school before riding the 8:30 a.m. BOCES bus. Afternoon transportation will be provided. Attending BOCES on Sept. 5 is optional.
