LOWVILLE — The rain let up just long enough Monday evening for nearly 50 people to see the unveiling of the newest street in the village.

Street signs now stand at each end of the 100 feet of road in front of First Presbyterian Church, officially declaring it as Monument Lane.

The village Board of Trustees sought suggested names, and narrowed 57 submissions to three names before deciding on Monument Lane.

The brief ceremony was followed by a reception and refreshments in the church.
