Romney is criticizing his own health plan

I don’t get it.

Candidate Mitt Romney has bragged about achieving universal health care in Massachusetts when he was governor there. He used the plan for health care that was developed by a conservative think tank, the Heritage Foundation. Now, the overwhelming majority of people in Massachusetts are pleased with their health care plan.

In the last presidential election campaign, candidate Barack Obama promised if elected, he would implement what is essentially the Massachusetts plan nationwide, because 47 million American citizens were without coverage. The American people approved, and he was elected overwhelmingly.

True to his promise, President Obama put the Affordable Care Act in place (essentially the Romneycare plan from Massachusetts). Both Romneycare and Obamacare are conservative, leaving health care in the insurance market.

Once President Obama and Congress put health care in place, modeled on Romneycare, candidate Romney and colleagues began to hit him over the head with it. They continue to do so. What is wrong with this picture?
