Back in June, when Republican Matt Doheny was facing off against Kellie Greene in a GOP primary, his campaign enlisted the support of a raft of Republican state legislators who announced that they were endorsing him.
One of those legislators, Assemblywoman Janet Duprey, R-Peru, is now locked in a primary battle of her own. On Sept. 13, she faces Karen Bisso and David Kimmel. (Ms. Duprey also has the Independence Party line, and Mrs. Bisso has the Conservative Party line, so they'll move on to the general against Democrat Tim Carpenter no matter what happens.)
But she's not getting any public help from Mr. Doheny.
I asked him today at a campaign stop in Ogdensburg, where he was opening an office with state Sen. Patty Ritchie, R-Heuvelton.
He said he's concentrating on his own race, the same answer he gave about a race in the eastern part of the congressional district.
He did say, however, that he will support the Republican primary victor.
