Heuvelton Labor Day Weekend Underway

HEUVELTON – The Labor Day Committee will hold its annual Labor Day Celebration this weekend. This year’s theme is “Happy 100th Birthday, Heuvelton.”

Today

7:30 a.m. — Registration begins for Walk/Run. Registration is $10. Participants will receive a free T-shirt.

Registration for the Children’s Fishing Derby will be at the boat launch. The derby is for kids ages 3 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

8 a.m. to noon — Walk/ Run and Children’s Fishing Derby.

9 a.m. — Games, craft fair, food, vendors and pony rides.

10 a.m. — Baby contest registration begins. The contest is for newborns up to 2 years.

10 a.m. — 11 a.m. - Animal show by Thompson Park Zoo.

10 a.m. — St. Lawrence Paddlers Canoe Race starts at Rensselaer Falls and ends at Heuvelton.

10 a.m. – 1 p.m. — Quilt Show at Pickens Hall. Admission is $2.

10:30 a.m. – Baby contest begins.

Noon – 4:30 p.m. — 3rd Annual Avis Todd Strawberry Festival.

1 p.m. — Cake Walk. Save your quarters and try to win a free cake.

2 p.m. — Nail Pounding Contest. Prizes will be awarded.

3 p.m. — Jack Zeh Pet Show. Admission is $1.

4 p.m. — Basketball Shooting Contest.

5:30 p.m. — Donation Auction by Heuvelton Leos Group.

Sunday

11:30 a.m. — Parade float judging.

12:30 p.m. — Parade line up. All horses should be at the field at 11:30 a.m.

1 p.m. — Parade through Heuvelton ending at the Heuvelton Central School.

2 p.m. — Craft fair, food, and vendors.

2:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. — 3rd Annual Avis Todd Strawberry Festival. Awards presented at 6 p.m.

2:30 p.m. 3 p.m. — Concert by the Brockville Lions Steel Band.

2:30 p.m. — Chicken Barbecue at AmVets.

3 - 4 p.m. — Acoustics Band performs.

4 - 5 p.m. — Kaitlyn LaShomb and Friends perform.

5 - 8 p.m. — Pure Country performs. 8:30 p.m. — Fireworks.
