Watertown police on Friday charged George M. Fears Jr., 28, of 311 State St., Apt. 104, with third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Mr. Fears was accused of, on Aug. 26, pushing Divya Fears, same address, from their bed, causing her to fall to the floor and bruise her knee, then taking her phone away on Thursday to prevent her from calling police.

He was arraigned before part-time Watertown City Judge Catherine J. Palermo, sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond and later released on bail.
