PORT LEYDEN — Mitchell S. Smith, 26, of 3346 Elm St., was charged Sunday night by state police with third-degree assault, and is due to appear in town of Lyonsdale Court.

Police said he is cited in an incident on June 30 at the Moose River Fish and Game Club, Davis Bridge Road, in which a car door was swung open, hitting David J. Bartlett, 19, Oneida, in the face and body.
