SYRACUSE Syracuse University football wide receiver/kick returner Jeremiah Kobena will miss at least the next few weeks with an unspecified upper-body injury that required surgery, the school said on Tuesday.
The sophomore has five catches for 101 yards and two touchdowns through two games this season. He averages 19.3 yards per return.
■ The Orange is offering free admission to fans ages 12-and-under for this Saturdays 4 p.m. game against Stony Brook at the Carrier Dome.
The free tickets are available at booths outside of gates A, B, C and E. Limited edition New York College Teams bracelets will be given to the first 10,000 fans in attendance.
The team is also putting on a tailgate party, beginning at 1 p.m. There will be inflatables, face painting, video games, giveaways, SU Olympians signing autographs, the SU marching band, and an appearance from mascot Otto the Orange.
