WEST MARTINSBURG A Copenhagen man was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol after allegedly backing into a woman at 6:50 a.m. Saturday on West Road in the town of Lowville, Lewis County sheriffs deputies released Thursday.
Deputies said Brandon M. Dicob, 20, was involved in a domestic dispute with the woman, whom they did not identify, when she somehow exited the vehicle. Mr. Dicob then allegedly went to turn around the vehicle and hit the woman, and she was found by deputies on the ground partially under the rear of the vehicle. She was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Mr. Dicob was additionally charged with unsafe backing, arraigned in Lowville Town Court and sent to Lewis County jail, Lowville, on $750 bail.
He had a blood alcohol content of 0.07 percent, just below the state intoxication threshold of 0.08 percent, deputies said.
The investigation is continuing, and more charges are possible, deputies said.
