Edward L. Whitfield III, 45, of 111 E. Lynde St., Apt. 1, was charged by city police at 4:18 p.m. Friday with second-degree criminal trespass. He is accused of entering 934 Academy St. without the owner’s permission and attacking Rex M. Dunbar.

He was being held on $500 bail at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment.
