Katrina M. Limon, 20, of 214 Flower Ave. E., was charged by city police shortly after midnight Saturday on Winslow Street with aggravated driving while intoxicated under Leandras Law. She also was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, failure to stop at a stop sign, failing to use a signal turn, unsafe start, speeding and unreasonable speed.
Police determined her blood alcohol content was 0.18 percent. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or more.
Police said a 14-year-old girl was a front seat passenger during the vehicle stop. Under Leandras Law, it is a felony to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs with a child 15 or younger in the vehicle.
Ms. Limon was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $500 bail pending arraignment.
