COPENHAGEN — A Copenhagen man was charged Thursday with third-degree assault in connection with an alleged fight Sept. 14 at Cottage Inn on High Street.

Lewis County sheriff’s deputies said Jeffrey A. Powis, 33, of 9421 Number Three Road, assaulted another man, who they did not name, requiring the alleged victim to be treated for minor injuries at Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville.

Mr. Powis is to answer the charge in Denmark Town Court.
