Henderson- Wasyl L. Moran III, 66, passed away Wednesday morning, September 19th at his home in Henderson under the care of his wife and family.

He was born August 6, 1946 in Bath, NY, the son of Wasyl L. Moran, Jr. and Mildred Sutryk Moran. He grew up on the family dairy farm in Savona, NY where he attended area schools and later graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA, earning an associate’s degree.

Wasyl spent most of his working years in retail management with various companies all over the US including Things Remembered, Fanny Farmer and Park Lane Hosiery. He moved to the North Country in 1987 where he worked at W.T. Grant and Present Company before becoming a regional manager for Pfaltzgraff where he stayed for 10 years. Wasyl then worked at Sprint PCS at the Salmon Run Mall before retiring in 2002.

Wasyl enjoyed his pets and spending time with his daughter, family and friends. He loved working to make his yards and gardens beautiful. He had a passion for collecting antiques and an equal passion for Syracuse University basketball.

Wasyl married Deborah S. Madden December 24, 1999.

Besides his wife Deborah, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Anna L. (Victor) Egorova, Currently of El Paso, TX. Two step children, Sarah Krantz Mehan, Malta, NY and Toby R. Krantz and his companion Debbie Hoyes, Newington, CT. Two step grandchildren, Garrett and Molly Mehan, Malta. A sister Anna Mae (James) Gardner, and a brother John T. Moran, all of Savona, NY. Also surviving is his favorite Aunt, Joan Buck, Bath, NY, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Wasyl’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henderson Ambulance, Henderson, NY 13650 or to Hospice of Jefferson Co., 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY 13601.
