OGDENSBURG The iconic gazebo at Library Park needs a new roof for the first time since it was built in 1983, and the Lions Club is holding a drive to raise $7,000 to get the job done before winter.
The gazebo is modeled after one in Brockville, Ontario; former Lions Club Vice President Gary H. Guimond envisioned the organization leaving a lasting legacy for Ogdensburg.
The club is selling tickets for $5 each. There will be a drawing Nov. 3. First prize is $250; second through sixth prizes, $100 each; and seventh through 11th prizes, $50 apiece.
Donations can be sent to: Ogdensburg Lions Club, P.O. Box 252, Ogdensburg, N.Y. 13669. Tickets may be purchased from any Lions Club member or at Kimros Medicine Place, 511 State St.; Center for Sight, 420 Ford St.; and Gary and Aileens Hairstyling, 630 Canton St.
For information, call Lions Vice President Rose Demers at 393-6290.
