RODMAN Pauline E. Moriarty 91, of 13019 Bibbins Road, passed away Thursday morning, at home under the care of her family and caregivers, Valerie Benjamin and Cindy Ives.
She was born December 12, 1920 in Massena the daughter of Hector and Ora Gagnon Gauthier. She was a graduate of Watertown High School.
Pauline worked at the Band Box dry cleaners on State St. prior to starting her career with NY Telephone Company as an operator, she moved to the Syracuse area where she worked until she retired in 1984 from NYNEX as a supervisor. She married Edward Teddy Moriarty of Syracuse on October 17, 1971. Mr. Moriarty was a bailiff for the Onondaga County Sheriffs Office in the Supreme Court in Syracuse. He entertained as an Irish Tenor, and was an avid golfer in the Syracuse area. Mr. Moriarty died June 30, 1991.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra J. Reed of Rodman; 3 grandchildren, Diana L. Sherman and David M. Reed of Watertown and Theresa M. Male of Rodman; 9 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Lillian Rarick
Pauline enjoyed playing golf, bowling and shopping. She was a member of the Pioneer Club of the Telephone Company, the Westhill Golf Club and St. Margarets Catholic Church in Syracuse.
A memorial mass will be at Holy Family Catholic Church Saturday, October 13th at 10AM. Burial will be Glenwood Cemetery, Watertown. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Carpenter-Stoodley funeral home, Belleville.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made, in Paulines memory, to the Holy Family Elementary School, 129 Winthrop St., Watertown 13601.
