The Washington Post's politics blog has added its formidable two cents into the race for Congress in the north country.
The Fix rates New York's 21st Congressional District as "lean Democratic." The election is Nov. 6.
Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh, is running for his second full term against Matt Doheny, a Republican of Watertown.
The Fix says that the House of Representatives is likely to remain under Republican control.
Other "lean Democratic" races in the state are the race between Rep. Tim Bishop, D-Long Island, and Republican Randy Altschuler; Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle, R-Onondaga Hill and Democrat Dan Maffei; and Rep. Louise Slaughter, D-Fairport, and Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks, a Republican.
Other race raters cal this one a toss-up, so there's no consensus here.
Mr. Owens and Mr. Doheny square off in a debate in Queensbury tomorrow.
