Watertown-Jean M. Maxon, age 80 of County Rte 63 Watertown, passed away Saturday morning at Samaritan Medical Center.

Jean was born June 16, 1932 in Rochester, the daughter of Edmund and Jean Eftlick Riddell. She graduated from school in Binghamton, N.Y. and married John W. Maxon on June 30, 1951 at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Johnson City.

Jean was a secretary at Emmanuel Congregational Church of Watertown and later at Airport Fellowship Church , Dexter.

She is survived by four children and their spouses; Frank and Kathy Snyder of Watertown, John Maxon Jr. of Richmond Hill, GA., David and Connie Maxon of Adams Center, Donald and Janet Maxon of Ottawa, Illinois, and Joseph and Betsy Tripp of Big Rapids, Michigan. She has 21 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband John in 1990 and a brother and sister.

Funeral services will be Saturday September 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Airport Fellowship Church Rte 12F, Dexter with Rev. Paul Gmitter officiating. Burial will be in Sulphur Springs Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 7-9 P.M. at the Church. Donations may be made to Airport Fellowship Church. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
