A Watertown woman was found possessing heroin and a hypodermic needle Tuesday night while she was being investigated in an alleged shoplifting incident at Family Dollar, 146 Arsenal St., according to city police.
Janelle L. Gebo, 29, of 819 W. Main St., was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument and petit larceny.
The investigation began shortly after 8:30 p.m., when police said she was accused of leaving the store without paying for a DVD player.
Ms. Gebo recently pleaded guilty to petit larceny in Watertown Town Court in connection with the shoplifting of a television Nov. 13 at Walmart Supercenter, outer Arsenal Street. She was granted a conditional discharge and was assessed court fees totaling $255.
