CHAUMONT- David C. Lear, 66, died peacefully at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown on September 24, 2012.
Born in Watertown, NY on October 19, 1945, he was the son of the late Raymond and Margaret Baker Lear. He attended schools at Chaumont and Lyme Central.
He married Gisele Genier on May 27, 1972. Mrs. Lear died May 31, 1994.
Mr. Lear worked various jobs, retiring from Black Clawson after twenty years of employment.
He enjoyed restoring antique cars and long rides in the country.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Brian and Nancy Lear, Dexter, Bruce and Leah Lear, Broadalbin, NY and Jeffrey Genier, Watertown; a sister and her husband, Ethel and Eugene Smith, Chaumont; a brother and his wife, Raymond Bub and Paula Lear, Chaumont; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be 10:30 am Saturday September 29 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Cemetery, LaFargeville. A reception will follow at the Presbyterian Church of Chaumont, Main Street, Chaumont, NY at 12 noon.
