Massena: Evelyn W. Derouchie, 85, of Maple St. Massena, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family and Hospice. Evy as she was known by her family and friends, was born on October 4, 1926 is Norwood, NY the daughter of Frank J. and Anna (McGregor) White. She was employed at P & C in Canton, NY as a cashier and later retired from the Great American Store in Massena. Evy married Carlton Derouchie on January 29, 1947 at St. Marys Church with the Rev. Earl Nichols presiding. Mr. Derouchie predeceased her on December 23, 1984. Evy was a very active member of the VFW Auxilary #1143, and AMVETS Post #4, and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. Her survivors include two sons, Terry P. of Moira, NY; Gerry J. and Lisa of Chase Mills, NY; and two duaghters, Paula Gaspe and Carla and Al Premo both of Massena; 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; a brother Vernon While of Brasher Falls, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Wilfred and Gerald White. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 12:00 pm at Church of Sacred Heart with Rev. Donald J. Manfred presiding. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends and family may be recieved on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.
