A Cape Vincent teenager was found possessing two hypodermic needles in his jacket pocket Thursday afternoon while being questioned about a gold coin, according to Watertown police.
Ryan D. Gilligan, 17, of 335 Esselstyne St., was halted at the Square Lion, 91 Public Square, at about 12:35 p.m. after he walked out of the store, where he had grabbed off a counter a gold 2 1/2 peso coin, police alleged. He was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.
The youth pleaded guilty in June in Jefferson County Court to third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
