A woman from Italy was in Watertown police custody overnight after she allegedly struck her 2-year-old daughter in the head with a car door.

Khadija Hasnabi, 27, Chiuppano, Italy, awaited arraignment in Watertown City Court Friday on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police said that shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday she removed the girl from a car seat while arguing with Christopher A. Love at his and the child’s residence, 127 Spring Ave. She then “slammed” the door against the child, who was standing beside it, police said.

The child was treated at Samaritan Medical Center for a head cut and bruise, and Ms. Hasnabi was arrested at the hospital.
