OGDENSBURG — Mitchell W. LaRose, 25, of 108 Albany Ave., was charged by Ogdensburg police Thursday night at his home with tampering with criminal evidence and unlawful growing of cannabis.

Police said they received an anonymous tip that Mr. LaRose was growing marijuana in his home. When officers arrived, he attempted to flush marijuana plants down the toilet, police said.

Mr. LaRose also was charged with unlawful possession of a hypodermic needle and unlawful possession of marijuana.

He is scheduled to appear in Ogdensburg City Court.
