Lisbon blanks Heuvelton in NAC boys soccer

LISBON — Cody James scored on a shot from the top of the box in the 58th minute to lead the Lisbon boys soccer team to a 1-0 win over Heuvelton (5-2 overall, 4-2 division) in a Northern Athletic Conference West Division game Friday.

Jimmy Robinson made nine saves for Lisbon (4-1), including stops on solid scoring chances from Heuvelton’s Aaron Cobb and Jon Sloan in the first half.

HARRISVILLE 9, HAMMOND 1

Harrisville (6-1) took a 7-0 lead at halftime against the Red Devils in a West Division contest in Hammond.

Tim Fowler scored three times, Jared Dreythaler scored twice and Nick Weaver, Nathan Weaver, Joey Butts and Chris Graham each added one goal.

Jon Winchester scored for Hammond (0-6, 0-5).

EDWARDS-KNOX 3,

HERMON-DEKALB 0

The Cougars scored twice in the first 10 minutes and went on to defeat Hermon-DeKalb (2-5, 2-4) in a West Division contest in Russell.

Tyler Tresidder and Jessie Bullock scored the early goals for the Cougars (3-2, 3-1). Chris Davison scored in the second half and Kaden Dandrow made five saves for the shutout.

MALONE 2, MASSENA 0

Aaron Sharlow scored both goals for Malone (6-1-1, 3-1-1) in a Central Division win over the Red Raiders in Massena.

Austin Lamay made five saves to shut out Massena (2-2-4, 1-1-4).

OFA 4, SALMON RIVER 1

The Blue Devils (4-2-1, 3-1-1) broke an early 1-1 tie with two goals to close out the first half and went on to defeat Salmon River in a Central Division game in Ogdensburg.

Gian Rufa scored twice to lead OFA. Nate Peo and Conor Hannan also scored for the Blue Devils. Brady Mitchell scored for Salmon River (0-4-2, 0-3-2).

ST. LAWRENCE 3, CHATEAUGAY 3 (OT)

Chad Stalter scored two goals, including the game-tying goal in the 77th minute, to help the Bulldogs (2-3-2, 2-3-1) to a tie with St. Lawrence Central in an East Division game in Chateaugay.

Tyler Martin, who assisted on the game-tying goal, also scored for Chateaugay. Ian Lynch scored three unassisted goals for the Larries (2-4-1, 2-3-1).

COLTON-PIERREPONT 3, BRUSHTON-MOIRA 0

The Colts scored all their goals in the first half in an East Division win over Brushton-Moira (3-3, 3-2) in South Colton.

Andre Holden scored two goals and Gayle Dominy added another goal for the Colts (5-4, 4-3).

GIRLS SOCCER

HEUVELTON 2, LISBON 1

The Bulldogs (7-1, 6-1) moved into first place in the West Division after defeating Lisbon in Heuvelton.

Alexis Weidner and Rachel Thornhill scored goals for Heuvelton and Ashlyn Foster made six saves to shut out the Golden Knights (5-2-2, 4-2).

Hermon-DeKalb 4, Edwards-Knox 2

Brook Woodrow scored the go-ahead goal in the 54th minute as the Demons (3-2) defeated Edwards-Knox in a West Division game in DeKalb Junction.

Abby Mott and Kasey O’Donnell scored in the first half and O’Donnell added another goal in the second half for Hermon-DeKalb.

Katie Smith and Bridget Gladle scored for the Cougars (1-6, 1-4).

Clifton-Fine 3, Morristown 2 (OT)

Rachel Eibert scored an unassisted goal in overtime to give Clifton-Fine (1-5) its first win of the season in a West Division game against the Green Rockets in Morristown.

Alexis Pomerville scored two goals in regulation for the Eagles. Logan Green and Jessica Geddes produced goals for Morristown (0-6).

Harrisville 1, Hammond 0

Georgie Baker from Kathleen Coloney in the 58th minute to lead the Pirates (5-2, 5-1) past Hammond in a West Division game in Harrisville. Samantha Rounds made five saves to shut out Hammond (3-3, 3-2).

TUPPER LAKE 2,

BRUSHTON-MOIRA 1

Katie Stuart scored her second goal of the game with less than three minutes left in the game to give the Lumberjacks (5-2, 2-2) a win over Brushton-Moira in a North Division game in Tupper Lake.

Stuart also scored the first goal of the game in the 28th minute. Brushton-Moira (3-4, 2-1) answered in three minutes later with a goal from Kenzi Traynor.

CANTON 1, POTSDAM 0

Kali Frank scored from Emma Rexford to lead the Golden Bears past Potsdam (4-3-1, 2-3) in a Central Division game in Canton.

Katie Clemmer made seven saves, including one on a penalty kick, for Canton (3-3, 3-1).

OFA 2, SALMON RIVER 0

Christine Snyder made five saves as OFA shut out the Shamrocks (1-4-1, 0-3-1) in a Central Division game in Fort Covington. Alicia Shaver and Nikki Holmes tallied goals for the Blue Devils (3-2-3, 2-2-1).

SWIMMING

OFA 118, POTSDAM 52

Julia Mullin, Cynthia Buscemi and Susie Morrow each won two events to send OFA past the Sandstoners (1-4) at Clarkson.

Mullin won the 200-meter individual medley and 100 freestyle for OFA (3-2).

Buscemi won the 200 and 400 freestyles and Morrow won the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.

MALONE 63, EDWARDS-KNOX 30

Rita Mills won two events to lead the Huskies past Edwards-Knox (1-4) in Malone.

Mills claimed the 200 IM and 100 free for Malone (2-2).

VOLLEYBALL

POTSDAM 3, OFA 1

Kelsey Travis scored 23 service points to lead Potsdam to a 19-25, 25-21, 25-9, 25-23 win over the Blue Devils (5-3) in Ogdensburg.

Taylor Bonno added eight points for Potsdam (6-2).
