Mary Ann (Ratigliano) Phillips, age 61, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 30th at Faxton St. Lukes Medical Center in Utica after a long battle with several illnesses. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side.

Mary Ann was born May 6, 1951 in Watertown, NY, daughter of Joseph and Angelina Ratigliano. In 1969, she graduated from Watertown High School.

She was united in a wonderful 41 year marriage to Richard (Dick) Phillips in October of 1971. They spent several years in Pennsylvania and then moved back to New York, residing in Utica since 1977.

Mary Ann was a wonderful homemaker, dedicating her whole life to her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her husband and family. She loved gardening and created a beautiful wonderful yard. Bright red impatiens were her favorite. She also loved crafts, sewing, Bingo, and golf.

Mary Ann loved bowling and was a 31 year member of the Vista Sunday Nite Co-Ed League, bowling with her husband, Dick, and best friends, Camille and Bill LaFluer.

Besides her husband, Richard, she is survived by 2 sisters and 6 brothers, Betty Lou and Roger LaVancha, Lucy and Michael Booth, Eugene and Jean Ratigliano, Anthony Ratigliano, John and Joanne Ratigliano, Joseph and Mary Ratigliano, Michael and Jonda Ratigliano, and Ronald Ratigliano and companion, Paula Davis. She is also survived by John and Mei Phillips, Robert and Yolande Phillips, Laurie and Steve Galluccio, Tim and Vickie Phillips, her Utica family, Bill LaFluer and his daughters, Lisa and Rene, and her beloved “cousin” and best friend, Angie Palazzoli.

Mary Ann has numerous beloved nephews, nieces, and their spouses, Jennifer & Mike, Andy, Jimmy, David, Mark, Gina & Donnie, Krista & John, Johnnie, Jessica & Rob, Amanda & Gary, Angela, Mikie & Sarah, Kristen & RJ, Travis, Troy, Danyelle & Chris, Randy & Andrea, Jack & Crina, Paul & V, Cindy, Brian & Maria, Craig & Amanda, Bannon & Mikie, and Ashley & Alex. She also has many grand nephews and nieces that she loved dearly.

She is predeceased by her sister-in-law, Valerie Ratigliano, and brother-in-law, Tom Phillips.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Sultana Razia for her loving care and dedication through the duration of Mary Ann’s illnesses They would also like to express their thanks to the entire team of health care professionals at Faxton St. Lukes Medical Center who provided wonderful loving care.

Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., 214 Sterling St., Watertown on Wed., Oct. 3, 2012, from 2 - 4PM and 7 - 9PM. A prayer service will be at the funeral home on Thurs., Oct. 4, at 9:15Am followed by the funeral mass celebrated at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church at 10AM with Rev. Vincent T. Freeh, MSC officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of sending flowers, the family asks that a donation in Mary Ann’s memory be given to Faxton St. Lukes Healthcare Foundation, 1676 Sunset Ave., Utica, NY 13599-2287. For your convenience, there will be donation envelopes available at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc.
