Richard F. Piche, 86, of 148 East Division Street, passed away on September 29, 2012 at his home under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County.

Mr. Piche was born December 18, 1925 to Wilfred and Beatrice Piche. He attended Watertown schools and served in the United States Army. He played on the Red and Black football team. Mr. Piche was also a strong advocate for Right to Life. He worked at the New York Air Brake and later became a grand lodge representative for the Machinist and Aerospace Workers.

He is survived by his wife Marie, three children and a daughter in law: March Piche, Michele Piche, Gary and Renee Piche, a brother, David, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 1, 2012, at 1pm at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Jim Hayes, Christian Life Church of Chaumont, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham Street, Watertown, NY 13601.
